Fundamental concepts are presented in lecture and activities including the periodic table, atomic structure, chemical bonding, reactions, stoichiometry, states of matter, properties of metals, nonmetals and compounds, chemical nomenclature, acid-base theory, oxidation-reduction and solutions. Descriptive chemistry is emphasized.
